Cloud Backup & Disaster Recovery

Copies and a rehearsed way back when a system, a site, or a mistake takes the primary down.

The problem it answers

  • Backups nobody has restored
  • No recovery time anyone will sign
  • A single region as a silent risk

How this category works

SaaS & cloud covers two related jobs: building software people subscribe to, and moving or running computing so capacity follows demand. Multi-tenant architecture, billing, migration, storage, backup, and delivery pipelines sit in this category.

  1. 1. Decide the model

Separate a product you will sell as a subscription from an internal system you are moving.

  2. 2. Design for many tenants or for migration

Isolation, billing, and operations differ from a one-company install. Migration needs a sequence, not a weekend cutover.

  3. 3. Build and move in phases

Ship the smallest viable product or the first workload, then widen.

  4. 4. Operate it

Infrastructure, backup, and pipelines are ongoing. They are priced that way.

Questions

Should we move to the cloud?
When capacity, locations, or maintenance of on-premises hardware is the constraint, usually yes. When a system is stable, cheap to run, and hard to move, we say so.
How long does migration take?
It follows the number of workloads and how tangled they are. We plan phases so the business keeps running during the move.
What about security and cost?
Both are part of the design: identity, backup, and a bill you can explain. Cost optimization is an optional follow-on, not an afterthought buried in the invoice.
